Congratulations to Kelsey Greenan, Bethany Harbord, Katie Geary, Kendra Smith, and Morgan Dehmel. These talented ladies practiced all weekend and performed with over 100 grade 9 students from across pei. The Confed Centre was sold out and the audience was not disappointed. A magical performance ladies.

I'M BACK!!
Wow! Where did the year go? I will try to keep this updated. Could you, the readers, let me know that you are using it?
Meeting: we will be sceduling a "Band Parent" meeting very soon to discuss upcoming fundraising events. Stay tuned!
Honour Band: Some of our Grade 9 band students have been practising hard to perform with the best grade 9 band students on the island. See them perform on Sunday, February 5 at the Confed Centre in Charlottetown. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. It starts at 3:00pm and will also include the amazing UPEI Wind Symphony. Check it out!
PEI BAND DAYS: Tuesday, March 6 at Confed Centre, 8-9 Band only.
GROCERY BAGGING: We will be bagging in March: date TBA.

EAST PRINCE MUSIC FESTIVAL: the week of May 7, 1-3 choir, 4-5 choir, 7-9 Vocals.
To be scheduled: 6-7 Band trip, Beginner Band Days (6-7 Band), Variety Show Fundraiser, Final Concert

Grocery Bagging and Upcoming Events
The "Cookies and Coffee" should be arriving any day now. You will be informed!
Saturday, December 4
The band students and parents will be volunteering at the Super Store on Saturday. The information will go home next Monday. Make sure to ask your child for it.

Athena Christmas Concert: there will be one in the afternoon and one in the evening. Both choirs, bands, string club and music classes will be performing. Band students need to wear black pants or skirts, and black shoes.

Band Update
Fundraiser!
The orders have been sent, so we should see them in 3 weeks.
Remembrance Day Assembly! Tuesday, November 9, 10:00am.
The 8-9 Band and 7-9 Vocal Ensemble will be performing. The students must wear black shirts and black pants and black shoes. I want to see how it looks to have everyone in black!
Also, the grade 4-5 choir will be performing. They just need to wear something nice.
Practicing!
More students need to be taking their instruments home more often. We seem to be doing some of the same skills in class over and over again. We need to move forward: get practising!!!!

FUNDRAISER DUE!
The fundraising committee will be tallying the orders this week, so please get them in by Wednesday, October 27 by the very latest. We need to send the orders to get them back by mid-November. Thanks so much the great effort in sales!
Also, if you are available to help sort uniforms Wednesday night at the school, around 6:00pm, please email me so I'll know how many to expect.
